North Shore Real Estate
North Shore real estate is great for those who love to surf! The North Shore is famous for its laid back country life-style and international surfing spots and competitions, as well as the community’s strong desire to protect the area from further development. That said, the real estate on the North Shore of Oahu is a bit more rural than many other areas of Oahu and there is far less in the way of commerce. As of now, there is only one major resort on the North Shore, at Turtle Bay, and a smaller Marriott Residence Inn, in Laie.
You can get to the North Shore to see some North Shore real estate by heading North up H-2 from Central Oahu or by taking the Kamehameha Highway up from the Windward Side of the island. North Shore communities include on the East Side - Punaluu, Hauula, Laie, Maleakahana, and Kahuku, and on the West Side Turtle Bay (Kuilima), Sunset Beach, Pupukea, Haleiwa, Mokuleia, Waimea, & Waialua. Particularly in Haleiwa, there are lots of nice shops and restaurants, catering to locals and tourists alike.
North Shore real estate includes luxury beachfront homes, hilltop view homes, acreage properties, as well as small charming plantation cottages and anything in between. The North Shore living is simple and unpretentious, no matter the style of home you choose.
