Kailua Complete Streets Program - Get Involved!

What are Complete Streets?

Complete Streets are part of a transportation and design approach that aims to create a comprehensive, integrated network of streets that are safe and convenient for all people. Kailua’s Complete Streets solutions are designed to accommodate people traveling by foot, bicycle, transit, or automobile, and of all ages and abilities.  Complete Streets principles move away from streets designed with a singular focus on automobiles toward a design approach that is context-sensitive, multimodal, and integrated with the community’s vision and sense of place.
Complete streets in Kailua support healthy and sustainable communities through promoting physical activity, reducing vehicle emissions, increasing pedestrian and bicycle safety, and beautifying neighborhoods. The end result is a transportation network that provides safe travel, promotes public health, and creates stronger and more livable communities.

Hawaii Life | Fresh Local Fish on Oahu by Local I'a

You may think it is easy to get good fresh fish on Oahu. After all, we live on an island, surrounded by the ocean for thousands of miles in every direction with, presumably, plenty of fish. However, it seems that most local grocery stores do not get great fish and often, the fish there is not local. We’ve been really disappointed at the fish available at our local grocery stores. Most of the best local fish is sold directly to restaurants by the fisherman at auction.

Issues involving seller’s disclosures and buyers due diligence come up every day in Oahu Hawaii Real Estate. These matters are of utmost importance and are some of the primary issues that commonly make or break an Oahu real estate transaction. But what are the obligations and requirements for Seller’s disclosures and Buyer’s due diligence regarding the sale of real estate in Hawaii? I will discuss each separately, starting with Seller’s Disclosures in Part 1.

Seller’s Real Property Disclosures

In any residential real estate transaction, a Seller is required to make disclosures of any fact, defect, or condition, past or present, that would be expected to measurably affect the value to a reasonable person of the residential real property being offered for sale.“ (Emphasis added. HRS Section 508D-1.)
