Hawaiian Interior Design | Historic Charles Dickey House in Honolulu

The redesign of the interior of the historic Charles Dickey home in the Diamond Head, Honolulu neighborhood is beautiful and worthy of being featured here. The designer, Fine Design Interiors of the Big Island of Hawaii, won several awards for this project including the following:

2009 ASID Hawaii Overall Grand Award

Charles Dickey is one of the most prolific architects of Hawaii. His projects were both commercial and residential in nature and spanned over decades. More on Charles Dickey.
This home was built in the 1930’s and is a prime example of simple territoriai architecture of the period.  Per the designer, Fine Hawaiian Interiors:
“The objective for this 4th design project with the client was to retain all historic architectural features, adapt the home to the client’s comfortable and elegant lifestyle and design a display area in the Living Room for the client’s personal Hawaiian artifact collection.”
The result was both elegant and tasteful, yet casual and reflective of the period’s simple and functional requirements.
